System components include an IP44-rated transceiver unit (TU), IP56-rated external roof-mount antenna and IP66-rated handset. All are designed to be light in weight making them less susceptible to vibration damage.
SAFARI™ offers standard voice (4kbps AMBE+2) and 3.1kHz analogue voice phone/fax services. In addition, the unit supports high-speed streaming and IP data networking for use in various applications such as Internet browsing, eMail and file transfer.
The terminal allows simultaneous access to all of these services as well as SMS.
